After 20 years of effort, our neighborhood is finally getting speed cushions on Chimney Hill Lane to help reduce speeding and create safer streets. Thanks to 10 dedicated volunteers who went door to door collecting 55 out of 75 required signatures, this project was approved by the City of Dallas.
These speed cushions are specially designed to allow emergency vehicles to pass through while still controlling excessive speeds. The city conducted speed surveys to ensure our neighborhood was a good candidate, and now a contractor will be assigned for installation.
Signs will be posted ahead of time to alert residents before construction begins. We will share updates as soon as we receive an installation timeline.
